You know Liebscher & Bracht thanks to Raoul.
Managing Director Raoul Bracht leads Liebscher & Bracht’s 150-strong team, who have dedicated themselves to the company’s success. He and his team work tirelessly to bring Liebscher and Bracht to a broader audience.
What drives Raoul and his energetic crew? The company’s vision: “A life free of pain for everyone.”
While Roland and Petra are the faces of Liebscher & Bracht, Raoul works behind the scenes managing the company. He defines the company’s strategy, clears daily hurdles, and brings the right employees on board.
Ultimately, Raoul is responsible for the development of Liebscher & Bracht.
“When I was in my twenties, all my friends were busy partying. I was busy building a company out of my parents’ idea.”
Before Raoul came along, Roland and Petra had worked with consultants several times to grow Liebscher & Bracht. Each attempt failed.
Raoul, still only in his early twenties, decided to help. He had seen first-hand the transformative effects of the therapy. People went into Roland’s office in such severe pain they could barely walk. They left mobile, flexible, free of pain — and beaming. The therapy had given them their movement back.
Many who benefited from Roland’s treatment had tried numerous therapies with no results. The thought that these people could have saved time, money, and suffering if they’d first come to Liebscher and Bracht hit Raoul hard. He committed himself to growing the business.
“For me, pain was never a bad thing. I knew I’d be fine after Roland treated me for 20 minutes.”
As a child, Raoul watched the Liebscher & Bracht therapy develop. Even at a tender age, he was impressed by how his parents could help so many people — including him.
Raoul was born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised in Tarifa, Spain. He spent every free minute on the water with his brother, pursuing his passion: kitesurfing.
What wasn’t his passion was school.
“Roland always emphasised to me and my brother: you can do whatever you want in life, but please promise me one thing — you’ll do your A-levels.”
Raoul moved to Paris, then Madrid, after finishing high school. “The main reason was to get away from that school!” he recalls.
He was happy to be done with school but wasn’t sure what his next move should be.
His mother Petra had some advice for him: Start doing something.
“How do you start a company? You get started, that’s how.”
Raoul moved to Granada with his brother and a friend to study business administration.
“I felt like an alien! I quit after the introductory lecture.”
After two years and four attempts at studying, Raoul had had enough. “I was interning at a bank in Vienna, and every morning, I would shake my head and ask myself, ‘What am I doing here?'”
Halfway through his internship, Raoul realised he wanted to be an entrepreneur — but didn’t want to work in banking. He wanted to help make the world a better place.
“My parents had developed this ingenious therapy, and I couldn’t bear the fact that nobody knew about it. I saw the perfect opportunity. Stop studying and start growing their business. How hard can it be?”
And with that, Raoul began his adventure as an entrepreneur.
Raoul was convinced of his parent’s therapy. He’d seen it work hundreds of times and even experienced it himself — and he knew there would be a huge demand for it.
But how do you start a company?
You get started, that’s how.
“How can we get people so excited about our exercises that they tell their family and friends about them?”
Starting was hard. There were so many pitfalls.
“I remember sitting in front of my computer for weeks on end, staring into Outlook and hitting the refresh button, hoping another therapist had signed up for our training,” Raoul remembers.
Then, an idea hit.
Raoul found a YouTube video about using social media for content marketing. “We asked ourselves, ‘What can we post online to help people? Something that gets them so excited they tell others about it?'”
The answer? Easy-to-follow YouTube exercise videos that relieve pain.
Raoul posted “3 Exercises for Back Pain” on his personal Facebook account. The post exploded. The video quickly racked up over 1,000 likes and was shared several hundred times.
That experience changed the game for Liebscher & Bracht. What to do next was crystal clear.
“I thought, ‘Yep. This is working. This is what’ll take us to where we want to go. We published an exercise video on YouTube seven days a week for the next two years.”
“The recipe for Liebscher & Bracht’s success was simple. Offer people an easy, accessible way to relieve their pain themselves. Our YouTube exercise videos do just that. And they’re free. The value is obvious. Our videos are helpful and convince people of what makes Liebscher & Bracht great.”
Raoul smiles when he considers how far Liebscher & Bracht has come.
“So far, Liebscher & Bracht videos have received over 200 million views and Petra and Roland’s books have sold over 1 million copies.
According to a survey from 2021, over 20 per cent of people in Germany know us. We get over 25,000 orders monthly in our online store, over 25,000 use our app, and more than 12,000 doctors and therapists have been trained in the Liebscher & Bracht therapy. That’s proof we’re helping thousands of people daily lead a life free of pain.”
Raoul’s answer: “There are people all over the world who need relief from pain. We recently launched our YouTube channel in English, French, and Spanish. Our English channel has almost 1 million subscribers. Roland and Petra’s books have been translated into eleven languages. It looks like we’re set to repeat our success in Germany worldwide.”
From Bad Homburg to the world, you could say.
Liebscher & Bracht is a family business based in Bad Homburg, Germany, that is active internationally. Roland and Petra are the faces of Liebscher & Bracht, but behind them is a 150-strong team showing people worldwide how they can help themselves against pain.
