Roland is the reason why you landed on this very website today to learn more about how to achieve a life without pain. Yet, how did he become a pain specialist? We have the answer.<\/p>\n<p>Roland Liebscher-Bracht was born in Gersfeld near Fulda in Hessia, Germany. Early on in his life, he discovered his love for martial arts: both judo and karate have a special place in his heart. The knowledge he gained from mastering these fighting techniques should later find its way into the concept of his pain therapy.<\/p>\n<p>During his military service, Roland\u2019s affinity for the technical field and mechanical engineering became apparent, and it inspired him to pursue an academic education as an industrial engineer specialised in mechanical engineering at the TH Darmstadt. His studies would also play a significant role in the development of the Liebscher & Bracht therapy.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time of his studies, he opened a student-run car workshop in Frankfurt. This way, he was able to employ the theory he learned in his studies in a real-life environment. In his free time, he continued improving his martial arts skills. After judo and karate, he took to taekwondo and kickboxing.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he reached the end of his studies, just to realise during an internship that he was not cut out to be a business consultant. After this epiphany, he had only one option left: to quit his studies \u2014 which he did, despite being in the last phase of writing his diploma thesis about ergonomic workspaces.<\/p>\n<p>As life went on, so did Roland. In Summer 1983, he met a young medical graduate, falls in love and marries her three months later. Following their life as newly-weds, they gave birth to two healthy sons: Raoul and Julien.<br \/>\nApart from Roland\u2019s personal life, his work life took a turn for the better, too. After quitting his studies, he turned all his attention to martial arts. Starting in 1984, he picked up Wing Chun as his next goal. He decided to master the technique full-time, becoming the private student of Keith Kernspecht, the man who brought Wing Chun to Europe. Afterwards, in 1985, Roland opened his very own Wing Chun school in Frankfurt. Within three years he developed a successful system: he tutored over one thousand students and maintained almost 30 schools, reaching from R\u00fcsselsheim to Jena and from Friedberg to W\u00fcrzburg.<\/p>\n<p>During his years as a teacher, Roland noticed how specific movement patterns helped his students when they suffered from aches. This discovery sparked his curiosity, and he delved deeper into the subject of the causes and alleviation of pain. For the first time since his studies, he was able to combine his academic experiences with his martial arts knowledge. Roland soon learned how to apply lever and rotation mechanics to the human body and transform them into pain-lessening exercises thanks to his awareness of martial arts movement patterns. It was only a matter of time until Roland branched out into the health system with his martial arts association, assuming the role as a health expert.<\/p>\n<p>Roland always experienced situations where chronic and even acute pain disappeared after performing special sets of movement exercises. Due to this, he focused more and more on the usage of movement patterns from Wing Chun to alleviate pain. He documented these patterns systematically. Suddenly everything Roland had been doing up to that point made sense. He combined all his acquired knowledge and created a pain-reducing movement system: the Wing Chun Qigong (a mixture of pain-relieving exercises from Wing Chun and meditative routines from Qigong). He started using this method on his students and trained interested colleagues in it.<\/p>\n<p>With the creation of this movement system, his hunger for more knowledge was not yet satiated. He continued to study and explore movement profiles, which started a closer collaboration between Roland and Petra. After years of research, they reached a breakthrough in determining the origin of pain: too-high tension in muscles and fasciae. When her foster mother died during her last year at school, she found the path she wanted to take. Thus, she began her studies in the field of medicine.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, she spent some time in India, to help out in a hospital in Vellore\/Madras. Upon her return to Germany, she was concerned. Her work in India did not fulfil her as she felt it had little to no effect at all. The people there still suffered.<\/p>\n<p>The practical year at the university hospital in Frankfurt that followed left her equally dissatisfied. While she enjoyed working with people, she was not a particular fan of the way many doctors, including higher-ranking ones, treated their patients. She vowed not to become as cold and arrogant as these kinds of practitioners and to approach people with respect and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>Between her second and third state examination, Petra met Roland, marrying him soon after. While the doctor found love in her personal life, her work life still lacked such. She began looking for a different kind of medicine, one more potent, more effective than what conventional medicine taught. Urged by the many kinds of pain without known causes, she wanted to quench her thirst for knowledge. While working with other doctors in alternative medical fields, she picked up methods such as acupuncture and homoeopathy as well as naturopathic medicine. Finally, she opened up a clinic in Frankfurt. Now happy with her work, she finished a PhD in general medicine and naturopathy, her thesis thematising myocarditis.<\/p>\n<p>As a practising doctor, she observed the courses of many illnesses and recoveries. One thing she could not understand, however. Why did people wait until their symptoms got so bad that they became seriously sick? Often Petra noticed that those \u201cillnesses\u201d stemmed from the same cause: metabolic waste and toxins in the body, relating to questionable dietary choices and unhealthy lifestyles. One thing is for sure: during her medical studies, she questioned mainstream medicine a lot. Paired with her curiosity, she made some insightful and alternative observations \u2014 from which a lot of troubled people profit these days.<\/p>\n<p>Born on the 11th of October in Frankfurt (Main), Petra knew early on that she wanted to help others. When her foster mother died during her last year at school, she found the path she wanted to take. Thus, she began her studies in the field of medicine.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, she spent some time in India, to help out in a hospital in Vellore\/Madras. Upon her return to Germany, she was concerned. Her work in India did not fulfil her as she felt it had little to no effect at all. The people there still suffered.<\/p>\n<p>The practical year at the university hospital in Frankfurt that followed left her equally dissatisfied. While she enjoyed working with people, she was not a particular fan of the way many doctors, including higher-ranking ones, treated their patients. She vowed not to become as cold and arrogant as these kinds of practitioners and to approach people with respect and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>Between her second and third state examination, Petra met Roland, marrying him soon after. While the doctor found love in her personal life, her work life still lacked such. She began looking for a different kind of medicine, one more potent, more effective than what conventional medicine taught. Urged by the many kinds of pain without known causes, she wanted to quench her thirst for knowledge. While working with other doctors in alternative medical fields, she picked up methods such as acupuncture and homoeopathy as well as naturopathic medicine. Finally, she opened up a clinic in Frankfurt. Now happy with her work, she finished a PhD in general medicine and naturopathy, her thesis thematising myocarditis.<\/p>\n<p>As a practising doctor, she observed the courses of many illnesses and recoveries. One thing she could not understand, however. Why did people wait until their symptoms got so bad that they became seriously sick? Often Petra noticed that those \u201cillnesses\u201d stemmed from the same cause: metabolic waste and toxins in the body, relating to questionable dietary choices and unhealthy lifestyles. Thanks to this realisation, her vision became more evident, too. She wanted to help people live a healthy life by activating their \u201cinner doctor\u201d and taking care of themselves. With this in mind, she set out to advise her patients to live healthier.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, Petra Bracht perfectioned her treatment method, aiming at activating the self-healing capabilities of her patients reliably. \u201cBioTuning\u201d was born. She continued to spread the word about healthy living choices and held presentations and press work, both in print and on TV. During the years 1992 to 2000, Petra taught at the Johan Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt, in the field of nutrition and health.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all her successes, Petra was still dissatisfied with the way conventional medicine worked. She rejected the idea to give anti-inflammatory medication to her pained patients and to send them on a painful journey from x-rays to the operation table. As a doctor, Roland\u2019s wife wanted to help people discover the causes of their pain conditions and treat them accordingly. Too often did she experience the side effects of the allopathic medication given. They temporarily numbed the pain, but the origin of the pain was left alone. Neither were operations, particularly at the intervertebral discs, able to solve these problems \u2014 on the contrary, not seldom they worsened the issue in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>It was then Petra became more and more intrigued by Roland\u2019s methods. In the beginning, she incorporated his exercises in her practice but was not yet ready to grasp the concept behind it fully. She lost her last doubts when her husband treated her before a public appearance. Affected by severe back pain, Roland laid on hands and cured her of her discomfort \u2014 just in time. With that, Petra was utterly convinced that Roland\u2019s methods worked.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2007, Roland and Petra have come far with their pain therapy. They offer courses and teach other like-minded individuals what they know. By now, over 2,000 therapists are practising according to the Liebscher & Bracht teachings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. They are incredibly successful in treating their patients using Roland\u2019s methods.
