While Roland is busy showing the world pain-relieving exercises, Petra is spreading the word about how nutrition affects pain. <\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exercise and nutrition have a tremendous effect on our health. But despite being a doctor and licenced nutritionist, Petra questioned conventional theories about diet and nutrition.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Helping Others is Petra&#8217;s Passion.<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even after almost 40 years of practising as a doctor, Petra&#8217;s passion for helping people and making a difference is as fresh as ever. When Petra talks about her work, it&#8217;s evident that medicine and nutrition were her calling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Petra decided to become a doctor because of a personal tragedy. When she was a young girl, her foster mother became seriously ill. Petra hoped that by studying medicine, she would learn what she needed to know to help her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, Petra&#8217;s mother passed away before she completed her studies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;If I had known then what I know now, my mother would have recovered,&#8221; Petra says.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Eye-Opening Experiences with Treatments.<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After finishing her studies, Petra worked at a hospital in India and then at the Frankfurt University Hospital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both experiences left Petra feeling disillusioned. She never felt like she was effectively treating the patients. She found conventional treatment methods and theories limiting, and the approach to patients cold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Petra&#8217;s dissatisfaction drove her to find treatments that<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> would <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">work. She discovered naturopathy and orthomolecular medicine. Naturopathy is a system that treats the whole person \u2014 body, mind and spirit \u2014 with natural remedies. Orthomolecular medicine uses nutritional supplements to preserve health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Petra incorporated naturopathy and orthomolecular medicine into her treatments and was astonished by the results. Often, simple diet and lifestyle changes were enough to relieve her patients&#8217; pain and help them become healthy.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>People Can Heal Themselves.<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Roland discovered in exercise, Petra found in nutrition: people can heal themselves. Often, people don&#8217;t need medication or surgery. They need to listen to their &#8216;inner doctor,&#8217; as Petra calls it. (These are the warning signs our body gives us when we&#8217;re harming ourselves.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Petra&#8217;s book &#8220;Bio Tuning, Easier Living&#8221; combines her discoveries of health and nutrition and Roland&#8217;s discoveries of wellness and exercise for the first time. The combination of Petra&#8217;s and Roland&#8217;s ideas laid the foundation for the Liebscher & Bracht Therapy.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The concept: <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">encourage people to take responsibility for their health and pain relief by providing proper exercise and nutrition information.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Petra and Roland have continued to develop and refine the Liebscher & Bracht Therapy. Petra is now a recognised nutritionist and author of several best-selling books. In 2020, she published &#8220;Nutrition in Plain Language,&#8221; which she co-authored with renowned nutritionist Prof. Dr. Claus Leitzmann.
